Where to Stay

The easiest area to stay during the Percussion Camp in Culebra is in Dewey or Culebra Pueblo (Downtown) and/or the immediate surrounding hills (like Ensenada Honda). Because the island is small (only 7 miles by 3 miles), this central hub provides the easiest access to the airport, ferry terminal, top dining spots, and rental car/golf cart agencies.

The Camp is also located in Dewey at the Antigua Escuela (the Old School) right in the center of town.

Staying near Culebra Pueblo will also put you a quick 10-15 minute golf-cart ride from world-famous Flamenco Beach and excellent snorkeling spots like Playa Melones and Playa Tamarindo.

Culebra doesn't do big hotels or massive resorts, so Airbnb is your best bet. There are over 500 options on the island, ranging from simple, budget-friendly rooms to crazy million-dollar homes.

Honestly, you can't go wrong, but here is the breakdown to help you choose your vibe:

  • Want to walk everywhere? Stick to town (Dewey). It's the best spot if you want to stroll to restaurants, shops, and camp activities without worrying about a ride.

  • Want those postcard views? Look outside of town. You'll get incredible views of the island's best beaches, easy access to world-class snorkeling, and plenty of peace and quiet.

  • Up for a little adventure? Rent a Jeep, head inland or down the coast, and just explore.

Scope out Airbnb and grab your spot early!
