Originally written as a competitive snare drum solo, then as an audition piece for my current position at Southern Miss. Thus, the name "Africa Hot" when Matthew Broderick's character goes to Biloxi, Mississippi, for basic training and he gets off the bus saying "It's hot, it's Africa Hot!"
