What exactly is a drum muster?

So I've heard that term used many times and I'm not 100% sure of the exact meaning. Is it a rudimental solo that is designed to be played slow? Was is a rudimental piece used to MUSTER up the army in battle? Or a spead that you put on your sandwich? 😀 Can you fill us in Doc?
