Rested and Fired Up!
Hey Everyone. Sorry for being MIA lately. No excuses, I will do better but here is some explanation... End of the semester concerts, tests, juries, etc, Jazz Fest, French Quarter Fest, COVID!, tons of new music to learn, life...
We will meet this Saturday at 11:00am CT. I will make a video tomorrow but I am again sorry I do not have Video 7 or 36 done. I absolutely will have them done before I leave for Argentina next week. However, let's choose exercises from these two videos to discuss this Saturday.
New content in the Drum Set Application area. MAMBO! I loved doing this tutorial and I am playing along to one of my favs... El Manicero, also known as The Peanut Vendor. This one will take some work but I hope you enjoy the process.
Hope to see you all Saturday!

Okay, that’s what I was thinking, just happened to be online at the same time you posted.
No worries, the interdependent demands of your Bembe drumset parts (bars A&B top stanza) is a full plate anyway.
I downloaded the track (much thanks!)
sliwed it down 50% THEN the fun really starts.
The rhythmic counterpoint keyboard part has you standing alone with the hi-hat on the 1&4 of the 6/8 and without that being grounded there’s no game to play, not for the weak-hearted…8-P
I thought I was grabbing onto the two rhythms pretty good until I went to actually ‘play the tune’…whoops getting easier as I’m speeding it up AFTER The SLOW IT DOWN calisthenics are sinking in!!!
